The olive wood grain on mine is gorgeous and it feels sturdy without being heavy in the hand. Being non-porous, it doesn't soak up anything, and I like that it'll darken with age.

I've been using this for my morning yogurt and it doesn't absorb any of the fruit flavors, which is exactly why I wanted non-porous wood instead of bamboo. After a few weeks it's already deepened to a warmer brown, and the handle feels smoother with each wash.

The grain on this spoon is gorgeous and it's already darkened nicely after a few weeks of daily use with yoghurt and honey. Feels sturdy in the hand too, no splintering or rough edges like some cheaper wooden spoons I've had.
